SUBSOL - Stakeholder workshop 2016

The EU-project SUBSOL examines three different innovative solutions, which can protect the groundwater from saltwater intrusion – a problem, that is often seen in coastal areas and is expected to intensify with climate change and population growth.

In may 2016 a stakeholder workshop was arranged by The Danish Board of Technology at the city hall of Nykoebing Falster. Falster is one of the main replications sites of the project, since the area is facing saltwater intrusion problems both from the sea and fossil marine waters in the deeper part of the exploited (confined) fractured chalk aquifer.

The workshop brought local stakeholders and scientists involved in the SUBSOL project together to discuss the potential implementation of the new subsurface solutions and techniques.
